September Update
Friends,
Your prayers and support have been such an encouragement. You're part of a global movement that’s helping to shape the future of Christianity for the next generation.
We had an incredible response to See You at the Pole (SYATP) this year. Participation was up by 15% compared to last year, which had already seen a 30% increase. There's a resurgence in this movement, thanks to the strong partnerships we’ve built through NNYM, Campus Alliance, Dare2Share, and others over the past few years.
This year, See You At The Pole was held in all 50 states and at least 90 countries. Next year, New Zealand and Australia will be joining in. Since their school seasons are reversed, they'll host their events in March, following the same model during the fourth week of their school year.
Here’s a powerful testimony from Steven Patterson, Student Pastor at FBC Wichita Falls, TX:
“We gathered, we prayed, we sought the Lord, and we heard the gospel of Jesus. Over 60 students gave their lives to Him tonight. The Lord is at work in this generation, and I’m so grateful for the front-row seat I have as a student pastor.”
Another inspiring story comes from Edmond North High School in Edmond, OK. A freshman named Owen stood alone at his pole in Erica, OK. His courage inspired other Christian students to organize a second SYATP event a week later, where over 50 students gathered to support him and pray together.
We’ve also heard countless stories and received hundreds of pictures from pre-pole and after-pole rallies where students led, shared their stories, and even saw salvations during the event. Not only did they pray, but they also shared their faith, started Christian clubs, and formed prayer groups. When students are empowered, they always rise above and beyond our expectations.
Thanks to our growing NNYM staff and partners like Campus Alliance and Dare2Share, SYATP is making an impact worldwide. Earlier this month, we prepared with our local Campus Missionary team, prayer walking campuses, and connecting with key leaders on podcasts. Billy Beacham and I even did a podcast in Burleson, while our friend Travis Deans filmed a video promo for a 9-month mission trip at Billy’s office. We took every opportunity to share what God is doing, and it’s clear—He’s moving among students, colleges, and youth groups!
Carol and I also spent time in the Pacific Northwest visiting with church planters and local network leaders. We shared about SYATP in Olympia, Washington, with their youth leader network.
My friend of 50 years, Barry St. Clair, and our team also worked on his “Jesus Focused Youth Ministry Online” training, now in four languages. This resource will train leaders globally with a strategy we’ve used for years.
God is at work, and it's a privilege to witness it!
Blessings,
Rick
Thank you all again for your love and support.
