August Update

August was a great month in Texas, made possible through your prayers and generosity. Here’s a look at what your support helped us accomplish:

STATE/GLOBAL

  • NNYM “Footprints on Campus” initiative: During the second week of August, we mobilized campus prayer walks nationwide.

  • Strategist Mobilization: As of August, we’ve enlisted and mobilized over 100 strategists. Key leaders across our 25 Texas regions—including church and parachurch ministries, Network leaders, key pastors, denominational servants, camp directors, juvenile justice ministry leaders, city initiative directors, and our NxtMove DFW team—are united with us as allies. They’re committed to our “Accelerate Texas” call to action, developing prayer, care, and share ministries on campuses. Thanks to our partners, 667 prayer walks were reported on Texas campuses in the second week of August.

  • Global Leadership Summit: In partnership with the Global Leadership Summit on August 1-2, NNYM presented the first Next Gen track for student leaders globally, providing continued resources for local training and development for those influencing students.

  • Free Resources: Through Interlinc, our Campus Connections team, and other partners, we’re developing and providing free resources like books, videos, courses, and blogs to help leaders and students grow in their faith and address challenges with biblical clarity and conviction. Check out www.barrystclair.com and www.campusconnections.info.

  • “See You at the Pole”: Leading up to “See You at the Pole” on September 25th, I was privileged to do podcasts with Billy Beacham and Ryan Fontenot, and also helped facilitate the filming of the 9-month mission trip promotional video for the fall.

  • PAIS Ministry: As of August, I’m honored to serve as a mentor and board member for the US team of PAIS, a discipleship-led organization based in Arlington, Texas. PAIS equips young adults for campus ministry through a great apprenticeship program. I’m thrilled to network with founder Paul Gibbs as we work to equip Christians to advance God’s Kingdom. PAIS provides Kingdom-centric tools and teams to empower churches worldwide with teams, training, and tools.

  • NxtMove DFW: Dallas-Fort Worth has been selected as one of four model cities. As we invest in model churches here, best practices will be shared with top youth leaders in 11 regions globally. We’ve identified key churches and leaders, hired a representative to churches, and brought on a consultant to collaborate with the Lausanne movement, East-West, Dare2Share, and other global ministries.

LOCALLY:

  • Local Efforts: I worked with Declaration Church’s “campus missionaries” group to help students influence their schools as missionaries, lead campus clubs, and participate in “See You at the Pole.” We currently have 25 students in the group. Our team helped out at the Five Oaks backpack drive and outreach. I also enjoyed leading worship at Grace Community Church with Holly and Jason.

We remain committed to providing a strong network of leaders within reach of every youth leader in Texas, ensuring every student hears the gospel from a friend, grows in Christ, and becomes a multiplying disciple-maker.
